Now that I'm at the ripe old age of 21, I shall write not about trivial matters like Neck spending more than $20 at the Taka food court. As the closest competitor to Xiaxue's title of Best Blogger in Singapore, 1 of my resolutions for my 21st birthday is to write more about important issues regarding national and international matters.

I shall start off this brand new era by talking about Singapore football, and of course with regards to the match last Saturday, with century-old rivals Malaysia.

Singapore football have recently been on the rise and I feel that much credit must go to coach Raddy. The results have shown and the fans have also acknowledged this and arrived at the National Stadium in droves for our match against deadly rivals Malaysia.
Our arrival at the stadium at almost 7 meant that the crowd was already there and we had to settle for the seats near the corner of the grandstand. I shall elaborate more on this with photos of Saturday.

The National Stadium on Saturday. Never before had the stadium been filled right to the brim since the Tiger Cup final in Jan 05 and also the Malaysia Cup days. Our recent trip to the stadium for the Singapore Cup final between Tampines Rovers and Thai Chomburi had just half the attendance as compared to Saturday. The Kallang fever is back.

The Kallang faithful. Credit must go to me and Neck for purchasing tickets at Toa Payoh stadium a few days beforehand. Tip for you guys if you all plan to watch the final on Wednesday: Get your tickets now! Neck being the smartass sportsman had already purchased a stack of 25 tickets for Wednesday, and his shrewd business mind have sprung into action yet again as he foresee these tickets can sell for more than twice the price in the black market.

The proudest moment for any footballer. The singing of the national anthem. While I doubt the likes of Precious and Shi Jiayi probably know nuts about singing the anthem, I must say that they performed admirably on Saturday. At least the Foreign Talent Scheme is actually bearing fruit. Shi Jiayi in particular impressed the most for me as he has really that keen eye for the killer pass and his contributions from midfield is indeed important to our team's victory on Saturday.

Me and George enjoying the wonderful atmosphere at Kallang while Neck is deeply engrossed in the drama as it unfolds. Him being the sportsman that he is is analysing how he can run as fast as Mohd Ridhwan. Actually not much analysis is needed, the answer is simple. LOSE WEIGHT!

Lum Kor scratching his head as to how Lionel Lewis could have conceded that goal. Me too, was pondering how he could have let the ball rolled into the net. I think even I would have managed to keep the ball out of goal.

The famous Kallang wave. We, the Kallang faithful never gave up despite our team being 1-0 down. Our unwavering support did indeed bear fruits when Singapore equalised.

On the left, us celebrating either after the goal or after Lewis saved the shot. On the right, Lionel Lewis turned from villian to hero when he saved the final spot kick.

As we exit the stadium, the noise level was deafening as cries of "Ole,ole ole" rang around. Football fever is back in Singapore.

And we will be there again on Wednesday. Roar on Lions!

Just had my 2nd wisdom tooth surgery to complete a total of 12 days of MC,all thanks to dental surgery. Cheers to AH department for doing a good job i think and also being generous with their MCs.

Last Saturday, the legendary SAJC 2004 team took on the 2007 SAJC team in their spanking new Potong Pasir campus and while there were several big names on display in the seniors team,we still eventually lost 2-0 to a fit and organised juniors' team.(Thanks to me and Indra's combined efforts)

Anyway, playing these seniors vs juniors matches plus all the things said by coach Roland Lee will always evoke many memories of the past. Up till today,I would always say that my JC time was the happiest time of my life and SAJC soccer played no small part in it. Those days where we had fun displaying our unrivalled skills in front of adoring supporters, running laps in the rain and also playing at the National Stadium will no doubt remain etched in my mind. The friends made have remained close to me and I believe they will continue to be. The camaraderie and bonding between us were what made us go far in that fateful year 2004 I think and I still believe that although these players are not the most skilful ones, this team will always be the most special 1 in my heart. As I speak of all these, tears continue to roll down my cheeks.

I do know that some of this year's SAJC team juniors are reading my blog now after many of the seniors prompt them to do so. And I want to encourage you all to cherish this time of your life and work hard in making sure that you can do your best during the tournament and hope that you too, like me,can say that your time in SAJC soccer is one of the most memorable time of your lives.

As you people probably know by now, I have been occupying myself with giving tuition while clearing my offs and wisdom tooth MC. This equates to the financial nirvana of getting NS pay while also managing to give tuition and receive extra 'pocket money'.With all these spare cash, what should I do with it?

Below is a simple list of what I will use my earnings and savings for, it will also provide an idea as to what people can buy with regards to 28jan.

My wants and desires
  1. A holiday
  2. New pair of soccer boots
  3. Lacoste polo tee
  4. New pair of sneakers
  5. A nose job
  6. A nice watch
  7. More shirts
  8. More tee shirts
  9. More berms
  10. More pants and jeans
  11. Anything you think I would need

Ok the above list is what I honestly think is all the things I need. The other stuff that I need is more love from my family, friends and God.I think those are what I really need.

Disclaimer:Do not use the last sentence as an your excuse for not giving something on 28January.

As I embark on a recovery period from the trauma and torture since 8th April 2005, I have had plenty of time reflecting on myself and also moulding Singapore's tomorrow(teaching tuition).

Today I shall talk about why I think the Intergrated Resort should not be allowed into Singapore:

1.Singapore's population is predominantly Chinese. Who doesn't know that in the Chinese culture, somewhere in our genetic configuration we will always have an 'itchy hand' wanting to gamble. As if 4D,Toto,soccer and horse racing are not enough, now we have another casino?

2.Based on my friends' experiences(Neck,David Wu etc), gambling can bring about serious problems which may jeopardise the futures of Singapore's elite. The recent example of David Wu losing $2100 in internet poker on his 21st birthday is proof that even smart asses from The Chinese High School who know about the dangers of gambling cannot resist the temptation of it,what more someone from say JinTai Sec.(No offense) The example of Neck shall be illustrated on another occasion in case people accuse me of giving him free publicity again.

Also, our government's so-called preventive measures in curbing addictive gambling are also warped.
I shall quote the example of the $100 entry fee. In places like Genting Highlands, visitors to the casino do not have to pay to enter, yet there are desperate people who are sleeping on the Daytona machines at the arcade as a result of losing their last cents. Imagine in the future IR, Neck after paying $100, and do not want to just exit the casino on a losing note, would just lie slumped in a cubicle of the toilet when he's tired and the next time you see Neck is probably about 2 weeks later, where having starved himself will now look like a Chao Zhang instead.

As if places like Genting Highlands and the cruises are not enough to cause havoc in our society, our government wants to add in another 2 casinos? Hopefully after this entry, my many readers will be aware of what repercussions will actually occur after our government had made this decision. Will this entry make an impact? We shall see.

January 10th was the night when George Koh Jun Jie became of legal age to watch R(A) movies, go into the Genting casino without using fake IDs and he can also go to the polls to decide Singapore's future. To those who don't know George, he won numerous 'model students' awards during his time at Fairfield and SAJC. He was also part of the legendary SAJC soccer team that got a 2nd position at the 2004 Nationals Schools' Soccer championships.
Usually, people would tend to associate such a 'model student' with the characteristics 'dull','boring','hypocritical' etc. However, the fact that a rebel like me can be good friends with him bear testimony that he definitely do not belong to the above descriptives. Therefore, I've no qualms of organising this surprise birthday dinner for him although he persistently wanted nothing but a simple dinner with me and Lewis.Just a few pictures to illustrate what happened that night.

I don't know why but George seems a wee bit dissatisfied with his Emporio Armani watch which we gave him as a present.

He looks much happier now.

Above are pics of our dinner at Crystal Jade Kitchen. We then proceeded to Walla Walla for drinks and music for Vanessa's favourite band.

Cake-cutting ceromony. What a nice cake to have for his 21st birthday.

All at Wallas.

The girls on the left trying to imitate my girlfriend on the right. Nowhere as kawaii as her.

George, thanks for being a very good and reliable friend to me.You are the 1 friend that I respect most in terms of upholding your values and beliefs.Although some people may seem to think that you are boring or inflexible, I always do look up to you at the fact that you hold firm and true in your principles. Also, I won't forget those times when we had our gay conversations when we are doing our dreaded duties in camp at night. All the times that we have been through together, will only go towards building a stronger and lasting friendship together. Cheers to friendship. Cheers to Qiao Zhi being 21 years of age.

I have since wanted to write this but the recent days of dealing with the pain of my wisdom tooth have left me procrastinating on this.
Never mind,better late than never.

Background information: We were eating Japanese buffet while 'celebrating Micah's birthday' (Micah is actually not around but Neck being the good friend he is persisted with the celebration anyway) when Neck came out with this quote.

Quote of the day : "Should I be full, or should I be FARKIN FULL."

I apologise for the profanities. But that was what he said exactly :)

Him again. He is my favourite character to blog on really. CUTE.

Picture taken from nomoredrunkennights.blogspot.com,which is 1 of my websites that I contribute to too, which I have not done so in the recent past.

Not forgetting to mention, for the sporting year of 2006, Neck is our official Bowling champion,Pool champion,Golf champion and also Hamburger eating competition champion.

As i always say, He IS THE SPORTSMAN.(albeit gaining more than 10 kg in a year)

Neck just send me a flurry of cool pictures and I immediately thought of sharing it with my dear readers.
So please enjoy.

Who's that in action?Just trying to make sure trees in Singapore grow up big and tall.

From the left: Me with my first and only prawn catch last Friday. Mingrui with a freaking big catch. Is that really a prawn? On the right, the close-up of Mingrui's catch. Is that a lobster or what?

Ah Long coming out of the massage parlour's changing room.

And the beautiful silhouette of Micah Lewis in his naked form. A perfect specimen of how a male body looks like.Apologies go to Ah Long. For many days people have actually mistaken that body is yours due to my error. I would just like to congratulate both of you to have identically hunkilicious bodies such that I will make this mistake.

Fashion show at Topman. Still trailing far in the looks department to Joseph Tan Wei Kwang.

I really like this jacket. It has got the Chinese feel to it and when I wear it, I can really feel the magic of 5000 years of Chinese history behind me.(Chinese High taught me to say all this shit.)

My second favourite picture of the day. Neck looks so cute isn't it. Suspenders mix in with army admin attire. He is a true blue fashionista.

And here it is! Picture of the day. Enjoy!

Often,on Saturday afternoons, we can be found engaging in healthy acitivities like street soccer at Kovan. The purpose is to detox our bodies after a wild night of alcohol-fuelled partying in Zouk,or just simply to sweat it out and keep fit to prepare for our next big fight in the clubs.
Anyway, we have been doing this since the second half of last year and my heartfelt appreciation to Russel,Kitty,Melvin and co. for organising this football bonanza so regularly. It is no mean feat getting all of us lazy bums to congregate and play soccer and though our punctuality is still a problem worth thinking about, it is always satisfying when we leave the place with aching legs, telling us that we had a good workout. Many thanks to Yew Teng too, for constantly providing us with 'changing room' facilities at his place albeit us sweating like Hadeck after finishing 3 bowls of hot spicy Laksa. Just remember to lock your gates when you go for holidays.
A picture tells a thousand words. So here it goes.

Last year's Cleo 50 most eligible bachelor and Kovan zha FIT ren Yew Teng.

This year's Cleo 50 Most Eligible Bacherlor cum Singapore's most passionate Liverpool supporter Siu Kwok.

As usual, players of other races are usually segregated away from each other and our country's leaders can look no further than our neighbourhood street soccer courts to verify results of their efforts to create racial harmony. Matches between Malays and Chinese are always most fiercely fought at the street soccer court and to not disappoint you my Chinese readers,I can proudly say that we have flown the Chinese flag well and 98% of the time we managed to beat the Malays.

The talent scout from Balestier Khalsa FC. Always on the lookout for new blood and talent.

When the ball ends up in the drain accidentally after 1 of my powerful shots rebound off the goalkeeper, Jared is always enlisted to get into the drain and get the ball. Here, his version of Season's Greetings to all of BigBroHu's readers.

Everyone's favourite blogger preparing to chest the ball and let fly ala Drogba vs Liverpool. His marker just gasping and staring at his bamboozling skills.

Preparing to pick his spot in goal.Just for your information, the ball did end up at the top corner of the net.

Holding up the ball in Viduka manner. Jared is not going to touch the ball in a thousand years.

After a calorie-burning workout, tonight it's time for more healthy activities with Mambo night at Zouk. See you guys there.

2007 is here. This is the first entry of the year and I wish all my readers a very happy and blessed 2007 ahead of you.
So how was 2006? I would give it a 8/10. Why?Just because I've gone through a whole year of NS unscathed.
I had just 1 simple resolution for 2006 which was to just get past the year fast.I know it may sound stupid because it is something that is bound to happen, but when someone is on the brink of desperation and that so many uncertain things do happen in the army(kena charged, break a leg etc), it is really worth something looking forward to.

And so here it is,2007. Resolutions for the year? Hmmmm..I do not know just yet. Maybe try doing well when my school starts? Less drunken fuelled clubbing?(More of that later). Ya but 1 thing I know that I want to achieve is to get to know the people around me better and forge closer relationships with each other, and also, to maybe have a deeper set of thinking and start growing up to be a mature young adult. Haha, I know some of my friends should be laughing by now after reading this but to hell with you :)

New Year's countdown was spent at Mambo Jumbo @ Expo. The crowd was slightly disappointing as even kids the age of 16 could have entered legally. Also, they treated our favorite Mambo Jumbo like 1 big circus when the people on the podium started doing the actions. This is not to mention that they can't drink and so were definitely not high, which is absolutely detrimental to the party atmosphere. Another point of note is that this is the first time in my life that I see that in a so-called makeshift club, cups of bubble tea are being sold. Is this Teletubbies live in Singapore or what. Never mind, we being the party animals will always create a party among ourselves and our bottles of gin and Malibu are our fuel to paaarrtttyyy 2006 away. The music was great although the crowd wasn't and we did manage to have a countdown to 2007.
Then, the unevitable happened. People started to get drunk and danced around as if everyone in the club is his friend. Then, bang! They just collapsed to the ground. Sorry for the lack of pictures to fully illustrate what I'm talking about . Thereafter, going home is a major chore with the drunkards around, but thank God everyone managed to reach home safely to begin 2007 safely.

1 resolution that I have after this night, and it is the 1st lesson out of many that we will learn for the rest of the year. And it is responsible clubbing. I am one who always believe that alcohol is a key ingredient to a great party but when one goes past his limit, people around him are affected and inconveniences are caused, which definitely do not make it a great party. So in the new year, I hope that all my readers, along with myself, will club responsibly and while we can drink, do not exceed our limits and also to echo what the police says, Don't Drink and Drive.(That's for you Paul. And for you too Joseph)

Lastly, BigBroHu wishes all his readers a very happy and satisfying 2007.
